How to Invite Team Members and Clients in Atarim

Learn how to invite team members and clients across various access points in Atarim to streamline collaboration.

Atarim offers multiple ways to invite team members and clients to your projects. Whether you’re inviting users from the project page, while working in the frontend (Canvas), or directly from the People page, Atarim provides a flexible approach to user management. This guide will walk you through each method, explaining the differences in permissions, so you can control what each user can access.

Relevant For

  • Project Managers
  • Design Leads
  • Team Members

Prerequisites

  • Familiarity with the Atarim Dashboard and project workflows.

  • Access to the Atarim platform with administrative or contributor privileges.

Step-by-Step Guide

1. Inviting Users from the Project Page

The most common way to invite team members and clients is directly from the project page within the Atarim dashboard.

Instructions:

  • Log into your Atarim account and navigate to your Dashboard.
  • Hover over the project you wish to share and click the Share Icon that appears to open the sharing modal.
  • Choose the appropriate permission level (Administrator, Contributor, Collaborator) for each user and send the invitation.

Tip: Use this method to quickly add users to specific projects from your dashboard.

2. Inviting Users from the Frontend (Canvas View)

While working directly on your project in the frontend (Canvas view), you can invite collaborators without leaving the design interface.

Instructions:

  • In the Canvas View of your project (where you can see and interact with the actual project or design), look at the bottom bar.
  • Click the Share Button to open the same sharing modal that appears on the project page.
  • Enter the names and email addresses of the users and choose their permission levels before sending the invitation.
  • Send invitation

Tip: Invite collaborators in real-time while reviewing or working on designs for faster project collaboration.

3. Inviting Users from the People Page

For more controlled access management, the People Page allows you to invite Team Members (as Administrators or Contributors) to your projects.

Instructions:

  • From the Atarim Dashboard, navigate to the People Page.
  • Click on Invite New Member.
  • You can invite users as Team Members with either Administrator or Contributor roles (Collaborators cannot be added from here).

Note: This method is best for managing internal team members with specific access needs. Collaborators can only be invited via the project or Canvas views.

Permission Levels Explained

  • Administrator: Full access to everything in the Atarim dashboard, including project management, user invitations, and global settings.
  • Contributor: Access to only the projects they are assigned to. They can view and work on tasks within those projects.
  • Collaborator: Can only visually collaborate on specific projects but cannot access the Atarim dashboard or manage tasks. Collaborators are typically external clients or stakeholders.

FAQs

Can I change a user’s role after they’ve been invited?

es, you can update a user’s role at any time by revisiting the share modal or managing users from the People Page.

How do I invite a client as a Collaborator from the People Page?

You cannot invite Collaborators from the People Page. To invite clients as Collaborators, use the project page or the Canvas view.

What’s the difference between the People Page and the Share Modal?

The People Page allows you to manage internal team members with Administrator and Contributor roles. The Share Modal (from the project page or Canvas view) allows you to invite Collaborators and assign permissions.

Tips & Tricks

  • Choosing the Right Role: Ensure that you assign the correct level of access based on the user’s role in the project. Clients are best suited as Collaborators, while internal team members can be Contributors or Administrators depending on their responsibilities.

  • Use the People Page for Team Members: When inviting internal team members, use the People Page to ensure you have full control over their access level. This is especially useful for managing team roles like Administrators and Contributors.

Common Issues

    • Solution: Double-check the email address entered or ask the user to check their spam folder. You can also resend the invitation from the share modal or from People page.

Summary

Atarim offers flexible options for inviting users to your projects, whether through the dashboard, Canvas, or People Page. By understanding the differences between these methods and their permission levels, you can ensure smooth collaboration and control access to your projects.
